On October 2 - 3, 2009 the four tapioca associations led by Boonchai Srichaiyongpanich, head of the 2009/2010 tapioca production and trade survey team participated in a workshop on the private sector strategy in the prevention and eradication of the mealybugs.
There were 140 participants, mostly from the tapioca drying plants and starch mills. The workshop explored the possibities for the private sector to help the government, the TTDI and farmers in the efforts to control the insect.
